Seminar "Ethics and Integrity: Honesty and Training"

The Ethics Committee: for Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities (CETCH) and the Ethics Committee for Health (CES) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa are organising the seminar "Ethics and Integrity: Honesty and Training" on 23 January.

In a hybrid format, the event, which will take place in the Exhibition Room of UCP's Headquarters and online, aims to be a moment of reflection and debate

"What are the basic principles of integrity that should inform education, teaching and research?", "How can we guide students and researchers towards a moral commitment to ethics, transparency and rigour?", and "What are the ethical challenges posed by new technologies applied to teaching and research and how can we answer them for more and better science?" are some of the guiding questions of this seminar

Scientific knowledge at the service of society implies an understanding of “the interpretation of the values and principles that govern research” and especially how it can be affected by “social, political or technological developments, as well as changes in the research environment” (ALLEA, 2023).
