Seminar ‘Accountability and the Invention of Reality’

On 8 October, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Social Economy Cross-Cutting Area (ATES) of Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto will host the Seminar ‘Accountability and the Invention of Reality’, an event dedicated to the challenges and opportunities arising from the shrinking civic space for Social Economy Organisations (SEOs).

Drawing on the metaphor of a House, we propose thinking of accountability as a practice of care, imagination and resistance. At a time marked by pressures on participation, organisational legitimacy and collective action, this event is an open invitation to open doors, cross walls and imagine ways of inhabiting civic space.

Throughout the day, we will bring together diverse perspectives, experiences and languages to reflect on how accountability can contribute, today, to strengthening the legitimacy of SEOs, sustaining relationships and collectively building pathways for the future.
