Due to its gravity and global impact, the current conflict in Ukraine has brought together numerous international legal regimes. At stake are, namely, the rules applicable to the use of force in international relations, or the so-called "economic sanctions", passing through international humanitarian law and accountability for international crimes, or finally, the flow of refugees that is already certain in the European framework.

The rapid succession of events means that, while we feel overwhelmed by information, we do not always have the time and the moment for reflection with the critical distance possible.

Therefore, the Porto School of Law is hosting an open session on the current conflict in Ukraine, in which professors of International Law will try to frame these and other issues and answer the questions raised.

The open session will take place on Monday, March 7, and will be attended by professors José Alberto Azeredo Lopes, Manuel Fontaine Campos, Maria Isabel Tavares, Benedita Menezes Queiróz and Nuno Pinheiro Torres.
