Nuno Cera – Sinfonia do Desconhecido II

Exhibition
Symphony of the Unknown II
Nuno Cera
7 MAY – 25 JUN 2021

Opening:  7 MAY · 19H30
Guided visit with Nuno Cera and Julia Albani: 14 MAY · 19H00

The Symphony of the Unknown is an artistic investigation by Nuno Cera and an attempt to identify the unknown spatial qualities of three architectural complexes, each with a load of memory and a potentially transformative cultural, social and socio-political level. The result is a video installation of three large-scale synchronized channels and a publication. The project is carried out in collaboration with three invited critics - Susana Ventura, Joaquim Moreno and Mirko Zardini.

The project, conceived as a "visual symphony", creates a territory in which three episodes and poetic glimpses from different times coexist in evanescence: the university campus "Collegio del Colle" by Giancarlo De Carlo in the 1960s in Urbino, Italy; "Torre do Tombo ", the national archive built in the 80s in Lisbon by Arsénio Cordeiro, and "Cidade da Cultura de Galicia" by Peter Eisenman from the beginning of the 21st century in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

Curators: Julia Albani, Nuno Crespo
Exhibition design: Barbas Lopes Arquitectos

The exhibition is part of CI.CLO Bienal de Fotografia do Porto 2021.
