Exhibition "Julião Sarmento. Film Works"

The "Julião Sarmento. Film Works" will officially open the Porto Summer School on Art & Cinema public program, on July 2nd, at 7:30 pm.

This solo exhibition will concentrate an important part of the artist's work with the moving image and will occupy the Exhibition Hall of the School of Arts of Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto Regional Center.

Ten works from different periods - from "1, 2, 3 (1975)" to "The End of the World (2015)" - will be exhibited in different formats, forming a puzzle of theoretical, literary, cinematographic references and reflections on everyday acts and gestures.

The concentration of these works in this individual exhibition allows us to look at Julião Sarmento's work from a series of obsessions, such as repetition as a way of deconstructing the normalization of images and reflection on the place of language and its conventions.
