Exhibition "It's Night in America

The School of Arts of the Porto Regional Centre, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, holds the Exhibition: "It's Night in America" by the Brazilian artist Ana Vaz and curated by Daniel Ribas. Its inauguration, on July 4, integrates the Public Program of Porto Summer School on Art & Cinema 2022 and will be open until 7 October 2022.

"It's Night in America" is structured in three screens that involve the visitor and promises an adventure where the city of Brasilia - so dear to the filmmaker's work - confronts an alternative life, one that is beyond the daily hustle and bustle. A life of animals in captivity, animals that are "rescued" from their reckless entry into the city. The exhibition installs us, at the outset, in a space of strangeness, which repeats itself several times: that of strange, alien sounds, summoning references from horror films to "scare" the visitor.
