Estoril Political Forum 2026

The Institute for Political Studies at Universidade Católica Portuguesa is organising the 34th edition of the Estoril Political Forum, its annual international conference on political studies, which will take place at the Hotel Palácio Estoril from 1 to 3 June 2026.

Under the theme “Independence in an Interdependent World – Celebrating the 250 Years of the Declaration of Independence”, the Estoril Political Forum 2026 will bring together a wide range of experts, academics and national and international decision-makers to reflect on the contemporary challenges of political independence, sovereignty and global cooperation.

As in previous editions, the event will have a strong international dimension, strengthening the IEP’s global network through collaboration with EUROPAEUM – a consortium of Europe’s oldest universities, based in Oxford – as well as with key institutional partners such as the EPD – European Partnership for Democracy (Brussels), the Forum 2000 Foundation (Prague), the National Endowment for Democracy (Washington D.C.) and Transform4Europe – European University Alliance.

The Estoril Political Forum 2026 also benefits from the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the Association of Women Ambassadors (AWA), the Amélia de Mello Foundation, as well as the Polish Embassy in Lisbon.
