The Centre of Religious History Studies of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa organises the Colloquium "Crossed glances: Crossed glances: constructions of the Other in the Religions of the Ancient World" from 26 to 28 October.

The first two days of the event will take place in the Sala de Exposições at the headquarters of the UCP, in Lisbon. On the 28th, the colloquium will take place in Room EA112 at the Porto Regional Centre.

Aiming to contribute to a deeper knowledge of religion in the ancient world, from the Egyptian religion, through the religious traditions of Ancient Greece and the Roman world, to ancient Christianity, this Colloquium also intends to discuss the problem of the Other, in its multiplicity, and how it is constantly constructed discursively and through social and religious practices that, on the one hand, lead to profound transformations in the community that observes and, on the other, provoke reactions in what is observed.

This initiative is also a training course accredited by the Scientific and Pedagogical Council for Continuous Training for professors of all recruitment groups.
