In recent years, the field of entrepreneurship has witnessed the emergence of a theological turn in the explanation of entrepreneurial action. From such point of view, economic theory provides a compelling yet partial justification of entrepreneurship that needs to be complemented with insights from the spiritual background of entrepreneurs. This paper explores such insights based on a multiple case study of 14 Christian managers in Portugal. The main findings are nine managerial interpretations of entrepreneurial content, context, and process at the individual level of analysis.
