CEDH Learning Coffee - The Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory: Translating neuroscience into real-world change
Wednesday, November 26, 2025 - 13:30 - Wednesday, November 26, 2025 - 14:30
Sala Porto | UCP | Centro Regional do Porto
In this presentation, we will introduce the structure and impact of the Human Neurobehavioral Laboratory (HNL), a multidisciplinary teaching and research hub. The session will highlight how our work combines neuroscience, psychology, education and health to explore how the brain supports adaptive behavior in real-world contexts.
Our research is anchored in four synergistic research pillars: (1) the development of innovative neurotechnological tools and methods, (2) the study of brain mechanisms underlying stress, resilience, and well-being, (3) the translation of neuroscientific insights into education and cognitive development, and (4) the investigation of how emotion and cognition shape sustainable decision-making. Each of these complementary areas will be illustrated through a representative project that reflects our objectives, societal relevance, and the impact of our work.
