Blood drive at Católica on 11 and 12 November

The Universidade Católica Portuguesa will once again open its doors to the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation (IPST) for a blood donation campaign at its headquarters in Lisbon.

This charitable initiative, which aims to strengthen national blood banks, will take place on

11 November (Tuesday) - between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

12 November (Wednesday) - between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

At the School of Nursing, Building 2, Laboratory 1.

Participation is open to the entire academic community and the general public.

Requirements to be a donor:

Be over 18 years of age and weigh more than 50 kg;

Present photo identification;

Morning donation: eat breakfast;

Afternoon donation: wait 3 hours after lunch for digestion;

Hydrate with non-alcoholic and non-diuretic liquids before and after donation.

Important: In the days leading up to the donation, it is recommended to increase hydration with non-alcoholic and non-diuretic liquids, not to skip meals, to moderate physical exercise and to increase the number of hours of sleep (rest).
