The Centre for Responsible Business and Leadership is hosting the event “Agenda 2030 – Passado ou Futuro?” on March 20, a moment for strategic reflection on the journey of Portuguese companies in implementing the Sustainable Development Agenda and on the challenges facing the future of this agenda within the private sector.

The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at CATÓLICA-LISBON, marking a particularly relevant transition moment: the presentation of the findings from the 4th Annual Report of the SDG Observatory in Portuguese Companies. This occasion also marks the conclusion of the Observatory’s first cycle and the launch of a new cycle of research and action dedicated to corporate sustainability in Portugal and to the importance of the future of the 2030 Agenda for the Portuguese private sector.

The event will feature Jorge Moreira da Silva, Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), who will address the future of the 2030 Agenda. It will also include a keynote by Wim Vermeulen, Director of Strategy and Sustainability at Bubka, a renowned author and speaker and advisory member of the European Commission on ESG matters, who will speak about the relevance of ESG in the current context, followed by a dialogue with Prof. Filipe Santos, Dean of CATÓLICA-LISBON. Throughout the afternoon, business leaders, policymakers, academics, and institutional representatives will be invited to reflect on the progress achieved, emerging challenges related to sustainability and the SDGs, and the role of companies in a rapidly changing environment.
