Created in 2004, CITAR is a center of academic research of the School of Arts, which fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and promotes theoretical and applied research in artistic production.
The main objectives of CITAR are to promote the development and dissemination of knowledge resulting from the scientific and artistic research in the areas of Science and Technology of the Arts. CITAR is committed to the development of artistic research informed by practices and concepts inscribed in human-driven impulses of the postdigital era, digital arts and humanities, in tandem with the complexity of analogue art forms and technologies. Our contributions evolved into 4 focus-based areas: Sound and Music; New Media Art; Cinema and Cinematic Art; Heritage and Conservation-Restoration.
Our inquiries and work approaches are developed from diverse fields such as interaction and sound design, musicology and critical theory, new media art, cinema and the cinematic arts, heritage conservation-restoration.
