Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Porto Tech Hub sign strategic partnership

The Porto Regional Center of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and Porto Tech Hub have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening relations between the two entities and promoting the joint development of strategic initiatives.

The agreement includes initiatives in areas such as internships, student support, training programs, employment opportunities, scholarships, awards, research projects, collaboration via knowledge transfer centers, and other efforts that bolster the city’s academic and technological ecosystem.

According to Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, “this partnership is an opportunity to reinforce the bridge between higher education and the business and technological fabric of the city. By working together, we create more and better opportunities for our students and provide a meaningful contribution to the development of a Porto that is increasingly innovative, sustainable, and open to the world.”

João Pinto, member of the Executive Committee of the Porto Regional Center of the Universidade Católica, states that “the partnership with Porto Tech Hub represents a joint commitment to innovation, talent, and the future of our city. By bringing together academic knowledge and technological dynamics, we are building strong bridges for a more competitive, collaborative, and sustainable ecosystem.”

“This protocol reflects the spirit of cooperation we have always advocated,” says Luís Silva, President of Porto Tech Hub. He also adds that “together, academia and companies can accelerate digital transformation, attract talent, and place Porto on the map as an international benchmark technology hub.”

The protocol signing took place at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa’s Porto campus and marks a significant milestone in advancing collaboration between academia and key drivers of the city’s development.
