Porto Faculty of Law alumna appointed President of the Instituto de Registos e Notariado

Blandina Soares, alumna of the Porto Faculty of Law, will take up the presidency of the Instituto de Registos e Notariado from 1 March.

With a career spanning more than two decades in Public Administration, marked by specialisation in the fields of registries and notarial services, Blandina Soares assumes the leadership of the IRN after having coordinated the Mission Structure for the Expansion of the Simplified Cadastral Information System (eBUPi), a strategic project for the modernisation and organisation of the national territory.

A graduate of the Porto Faculty of Law, she has held roles of high technical, consultative, and strategic responsibility. She has actively participated in national and European working groups, contributed to scientific publications, and regularly engaged in conferences and advanced training programs.

Between 2013 and 2024, she served as a permanent member of the IRN Advisory Board, contributing to multiple initiatives, including the European Succession Regulation and rural property matters.

Universidade Católica holds international conference to discuss human rights
The initiative marked the 75th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights and the 25th anniversary of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. With sessions in Lisbon and Porto, the event was attended by leaders of European institutions such as the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
