José Miguel Sardica awarded an Honourable Mention in the Grémio Literário 2024 Prize

José Miguel Sardica, professor at the Faculty of Human Sciences and researcher at the Centre for Communication and Culture Studies (CECC), was awarded an Honourable Mention in the Grémio Literário 2024 Prize for his book ‘Portugal and England, Liberalism and Empire. Estudos sobre a Aliança Luso-Britânica no Século XIX’, published by Tribuna da História in December 2024.

Awarded annually by the Literary Council of the Grémio Literário, the prize honours cultural works by Portuguese authors in the fields of literature, arts and sciences.

The award ceremony took place on 22 April, as part of the Grémio Literário's 179th anniversary celebrations, and was attended by the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro.
