FMD and CIIS are part of the international Inspire Dentistry consortium, with a strong presence in China

The  Faculty of Dental Medicine of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FMD-UCP) and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Health Research (CIIS) are part of the Inspire Dentistry international consortium, an academic and scientific collaboration between four world-renowned institutions in the field of Dentistry: the School of Stomatology at Peking University (China), the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of São Paulo (Brazil), the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan (Canada) and FMD-UCP (Portugal), which is the only European representative in the consortium.

This international project aims to promote co-operation between the partners in the areas of research, innovation and teaching in Dentistry, bringing together institutions from four continents in a multidisciplinary and global approach.

FMD and CIIS were present at the First Inspire Dentistry Research Forum, held in Beijing, China, as part of the world's largest dental congress, Sino-Dental 2025, which took place between 9 and 12 June.

Representing the FMD were lecturers and researchers Nuno Rosa, Nélio Veiga and Tiago Marques, who actively participated in conferences and working meetings with representatives from the other partner institutions.

During the forum, FMD lecturers presented the following topics:
