Faculty of Dental Medicine marks European Immunization Week

In the framework of the European Immunisation Week, celebrated between 23 and 29 April 2023, the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Universidade Católica launched another production as part of the rubric "Ciência descomplicada" (uncomplicated science).

The piece results from the work of illustrator Sara Costa and Karina Mendes, researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS), prepared with the aim of uncomplicating a scientific article produced by researchers at SalivaTec [1].  

In this scientific work, several proteins altered in the saliva of individuals after infection by SARS-CoV2 were identified. These molecular differences often lead to the identification of new therapeutic targets and/or essential knowledge for the development of vaccines or other drugs.
