“European Degree” framework debated at Católica

In a significant step toward reinforcing European cooperation in innovation and higher education, TechUkraine, ISG Lisbon Business and Economic School, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), and IrRADIARE Science for Evolution convened at Universidade Católica Portuguesa for a high-level, strategic meeting, with the goal of strengthening mutual dialogue around innovation agendas and explore the framework for a future “European Degree.”

The meeting, which took place at Galeria Fundação Amélia de Mello, in Católica’s headquarters, Lisbon, counted on the presence of Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector, and Francisco Mendes-Palma, Director of Católica’s Transform4Europe Office.

Building on their strong European outreach, the gathering reaffirmed the institutions shared commitment to engage in ongoing, structured mutual consultations.

The aim is to progressively shape a joint innovation agendas and explore pathways for educational integration across borders, with a focus on long-term alignment and collective ambition. In particular, participants expressed a strong interest in continuing the dialogue around the development of a potential new European Degree.

The meeting at Católica was built upon a very strong, seasoned cooperation at EU level among these participating entities. This long-standing mutual understanding and history of collaboration provided a natural ground for initiating a deeper, more structured conversation. It is precisely the respectability of this cooperation that made the need to meet and have a mutual agenda both timely and essential.
