The Research Centre for Communication and Culture is organising a conference on the Taylor Swift phenomenon, which deserves to be analysed from different perspectives, including the academic one, since ‘Taylor Swift is a prismatic figure for the 21st century music world’.

This conference will take place on 23 June at 9 am.

Based on existing academic research, including Taylor Swift: The Star, The Songs, The Fans (2025), Contemporary Music Review's special issue on Swift (Fogarty & Arnold, 2021), and The Literary Taylor Swift: Songwriting and Intertextuality (2024), this conference aims to bring together academics working at the intersection of media, literary, cultural and political studies to explore Taylor Swift's role in meaning-making processes.
