Faculdade de Ciências Humanas | UCP | Lisboa - Sede
The Public Value Fest, organized by the Faculty of Human Sciences, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, The Dr Arend Oetker Chair of Business Psychology and Leadership – HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and Estrela Borough, Lisbon City Council, will take place on 23 and 24 May.
Counting on the participation of guest-speaker Timo Meynhardt, Professor at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, the event aims to “better understand what works and what does not in delivering public value. Whether in increasing a city’s resilience or a start-up’s innovativeness, public value provides a language that cuts across sectors and disciplines. It addresses the commonalities or, better yet, the systemic context. It forces us to think beyond one’s own “home turf”, “bubble”, or backyard.
Questions surrounding what it means and what it takes to maintain a functioning society have been raised since well before the coronavirus pandemic. However, this crisis has definitely raised awareness regarding what does harm or good for society as a whole. The debate surrounding the "common wealth" is back, and the public value approach is a driving force behind it.”
Throughout the Public Value Fest, scientists and practitioners will explore the most challenging topics of public value creation in business, public administration and civil society.
