International Staff Week 2026 | The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Internationalization of Higher Education

Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto Campus, will host the International Staff Week 2026 from 15 to 18 June 2026, dedicated to reflecting on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the internationalization of higher education. Over four days, participants will explore how AI is transforming key areas such as academic mobility, language learning, internationalization management, and global engagement in universities.

The main objective of the event is to deepen the understanding of the role of Artificial Intelligence in reshaping core dimensions of internationalization, including mobility management, language learning, process digitalization, and global engagement strategies in higher education institutions. Through sessions led by experts in digital transformation, language technologies, and AI ethics, participants will be able to share institutional experiences, identify tools and approaches applicable to their professional contexts, and, at the same time, experience the city of Porto, its culture, and its academic environment.

The programme includes:

• Keynote sessions on AI-enhanced language learning, digitalization trends, and ethical risks associated with generative AI
• An interactive workshop focused on practical applications of AI in the context of internationalization (topic to be announced)
• Parallel benchmarking sessions aimed at sharing institutional practices and innovative approaches
• Group presentations and a closing session promoting joint reflection and collaborative problem-solving
• A cultural programme in Porto, offering an immersive experience of the city
• Networking opportunities, including a welcome cocktail and an official networking dinner
• Shared lunches, providing informal spaces for dialogue among participants
