FCH 50 Years Conferences | Byung-Chul Han

Byung-Chul Han is the guest speaker at the conference "The Spirit of Hope", which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH) of the Universidade Católica.

This is the first conference that the professor and one of the most renowned philosophers of our time is delivering in Portugal.

The South Korean philosopher and essayist is Professor of Philosophy and Cultural Studies at the University of Berlin. Author of several works, he has dedicated his most recent work to reflecting on the impact of technology on contemporary society, as well as on the mechanisms of capitalism itself.

The conference is part of the '50 Years Conferences' Cycle, which marks the foundation of the Faculty in the academic year 1972-73.

The session that takes place at Centro Cultural de Belém will be followed by the dinner celebrating FCH's 50th anniversary.
