Universidade Católica Portuguesa attends the “Junt@s para Cuidar” meeting in Madrid

On 11 and 12 December, Universidade Católica Portuguesa participated in the meeting of the Collective Impact Community ‘Junt@s para Cuidar’, held in Madrid. The initiative brings together organisations and professionals from different sectors with the aim of preventing violence against children and adolescents, promoting safe environments and reinforcing a culture of care and good treatment.

Universidade Católica was represented by Rita Paiva e Pona, Advisor to the Rector for Social Responsibility, who participated in the working sessions dedicated to planning the future of the community, contributing to the definition of priorities and strategies for joint action.

The participation of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in this meeting continues the CUIDAR project, a research and university extension project of the UCP that aims to support organisations working with children, young people and adults in vulnerable situations, promoting people-centred approaches and strengthening protection practices.

UCP's involvement in this initiative is in line with the institutional commitment made in 2019, which establishes a zero-tolerance policy towards mistreatment and abuse, reinforcing the University's responsibility to promote safe, caring and respectful environments for all.

The meeting allowed for the consolidation of common values and strengthened collaboration between the organisations involved, outlining guidelines for the next stage of the initiative, focused on strengthening prevention and protection practices and promoting the active participation of children and young people.
