Portugal's journal of Philosophy internationally recognized by ANVUR

The Portuguese Journal of Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the UCP, has just been included in the indexation base of scientific journals of ANVUR (Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del Sistema Universitario e della Ricerca).

RPF was considered as "Rivista di Fascia A", by receiving the maximum classification attributed to scientific journals, at the end of its application evaluation process.

With this classification, the Italian agency for the evaluation of research and the university system acknowledges the level of international excellence achieved by RPF in recent years, namely in the fields of Theoretical Philosophy, Moral Philosophy and History of Philosophy.

For each paper published in the Portuguese Journal of Philosophy, the researchers and authors subjected to the evaluation by ANVUR will also receive the maximum grade.

According to José Manuel Martins Lopes, director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of UCP, "the now achieved recognition of the journal's merit - which places it in the restricted group of its counterparts with the highest international academic excellence - gives the FFCS a notable increment in its international visibility, as well as a greater internationalization of UCP and the FFCS."

"A recognition that is due to a committed, cohesive and persistent effort of its current management team and those who preceded it," adds the director of the Faculty.

José Manuel Martins Lopes also recalls that "only this continued effort allowed the consolidation of the growing path of internationalization that the journal has been treading, not only for the benefit of the authors who publish in it, but also for the readers, national and foreign, who continue to show renewed interest in our publication".

Bruno Nobre, Director of RPF, expressed his satisfaction for the recognition of the Journal's merit and recalled that "these good results were only possible thanks to the commitment of many Portuguese and foreign academics who, over seventy-eight years, have contributed in different ways to keep alive one of the most significant editorial projects in the field of philosophy in the Portuguese context, with a growing international impact."
