Conference "Artificial Inteligence: Past, Present and Future

On February 6, 2020, the Universidade Católica Portuguesa will host Professor Maria Manuela Magalhães de Albuquerque Veloso for the conference "Artificial Intelligence: Past, Present and Future".

Graduated in Electrical Engineering at Técnico, Manuela de Albuquerque Veloso followed in the footsteps of her father, Mechanical Engineer also graduated at Técnico, and her taste for mathematics since she was a little girl, as her mother encouraged and remembers many times. Manuela also did his master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computers at Técnico. 

She has had an academic career with several distinctions, including Finmeccanica Chair as an assistant professor, and Herbert A. Simon Chair, who has, since she was an associate professor, and now as a full professor. She was elected to the position of "University Professor", and was Head of the Machine Learning Department. She is a member of the Diaspora Council and collaborates with Portuguese researchers within the CMU-Portugal program.
