Católica's PROTEUS office promotes success in higher education

Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) presents the PROTEUS project - Promoting Success in University.

Created by the Faculty of Human Sciences and funded by the Directorate-General for Higher Education, this service aims to support the academic career of UCP students by developing a set of mechanisms to promote their success, favouring their transition, integration and adaptation to this level of education.

Located at UCP's headquarters in Lisbon, the PROTEUS Office provides individualised, confidential and free support to students in various situations of difficulty in transitioning and adapting to higher education (social and academic integration, leaving home, learning demands, study methods and habits, organisation and discipline, motivation and perseverance).

On March 6, the project was presented along with the PROTEUS cycle of workshops, which aims to be an opportunity to develop relevant skills for adapting to higher education. All students can take part and 2 ECTS will be awarded and a Diploma Supplement issued if they participate in four or more sessions.

In addition to this cycle of workshops, which began on March 21 on the topic of 'Academic Success: Study Methods and Habits', the PROTEUS Office also offers a welcome handbook, a mentoring and tutoring programme and is currently developing a study on 'Student Adaptation to Higher Education'.
