Católica organises self-discovery workshop through the lens of photography
"A light, fun and at the same time very profound workshop that makes us question who we are in a creative and inspiring way’. This is how Beatriz Villas Bôas, a member of the UCP4SUCCESS team, describes the ‘SELF: A visual self-discovery’ session organised by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
The creativity and personal development workshop, led by Maria Xavier, took place on 21 May at the Católica headquarters in Lisbon. Through the use of photography, the UCP4SUCCESS event provided moments of sharing, personal reflection and learning.
The workshop was divided into two parts. The first part was based on Anaïs Nin's phrase: ‘We don't see things as they are, but as we are’, which guided the students in their search for their own vision, through practical exercises in self-knowledge and creativity.
Between the two parts of the workshop, there was a Lunch Break that allowed the participants to socialise and make new connections. The second and final part of the session, which focused on the different conceptualisations that exist within the world of photography, aimed to introduce various ways of photographing in order to encourage each person's artistic expression.
This project is supported by the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) and the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
