Católica considered the best University in Portugal by Times Higher Education

Times Higher Education – THE recognized Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) as the #1 University in Portugal, among 13 national Higher Education institutions that integrate the 2020 edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR2020).

In the most recent edition of the ranking, UCP rose 300 places, now occupying the position 351 at a World level, highlighting the research performance and impact.

The President of UCP, Isabel Capeloa Gil, highlights: “This result demonstrates the competitiveness of the Universidade Católica’s R&D strategy and also the value of the National scientific system. Above all, it is a recognition of the outstanding work of the UCP academic community”.

The Higher Education Institutions participating in Times Higher Education World University Rankings are assessed for their performance taking into account the following criteria: Citations, International Outlook, Teaching and Research.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings is composed by 1396 of the most renowned Higher Education institutions worldwide, such as Harvard University, Oxford University and Imperial College London, among others.

Since 2010, Times Higher Education World University Rankings has been held in partnership with Thompson Reuters, the world’s leader in information and technology. From 2016, this partnership started to be made with Elsevier.
