Biblioteca ComVida

The Library of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Braga Regional Centre, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, organises another "Biblioteca ComVida" session, under the theme: "Feminine Philosophy: Voices from the 20th Century", with the participation of the professors Analisa Candeias and Rosa Ferreira.

The association of Philosophy with the male world presents a very marked and explicit emphasis. However, women are also integrated in philosophical studies, even if in modern days their visibility is still reduced. It is considered that it is urgent to give greater prominence to feminine thought in the field of Philosophy, not only for the advantages it may present in terms of difference and heterogeneity, but also because of the need to know the contribution established over the years. The aim is to give voice to some of these women, with particular emphasis on Simone Weil and Simone de Beauvoir, who, although in a different path in terms of their individual thoughts, brought important contributions to the twentieth century and to the contemporary world.
