Universidade Católica honoured by APICCAPS

Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto Campus, was one of the entities distinguished as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of APICCAPS (Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers’ Association). The institution has played a fundamental role in shaping the sector’s strategic direction, producing scientific knowledge, and developing skills for companies within the footwear cluster.

The collaboration between the two entities has driven research projects, qualification programs, and initiatives that bring academia and industry closer together, creating bridges for the modernization of the sector. This tribute recognizes not only the past but, above all, the structuring role these institutions have played in building a more modern, sustainable, and future-oriented industry.

The APICCAPS 50th Anniversary Commemorative Dinner, held on November 18 at Palácio da Bolsa in Porto, honoured a group of institutional partners who played a decisive role in strengthening the Portuguese footwear industry.
