UCP Christmas Celebrations

This December, as in previous years, the Universidade Católica Portuguesa celebrates Christmas at its headquarters in Lisbon, at Porto Regional Centre, at Braga Regional Centre and at Viseu Regional Centre, with various ceremonies and celebrations open to the entire UCP academic community.

Lisbon-Headquarters

The Rector of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) invites all students, teachers and collaborators to the Christmas Eucharist in Lisbon, to be held on December 12, 2019 at 12:00 in the Cardinal Medeiros Auditorium (1st Floor of the Library Building). 

It also invites the whole academic community to the UCP Christmas Party, which will take place on December 12th, 2019, at 16:30 in the Cardinal Medeiros Auditorium. This year, the Christmas celebrations will feature the performance of the artist João Ventura who accompanied Madonna at the Met Gala, an annual fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Institute in New York.

*Bibliographical note: Born in Brazil, João Ventura lives in Lisbon since 2015. It was in a mythical bar in Alfama, which caught Madonna’s attention, that shortly after hearing him play, was invited to accompany her in the 2018 Met Gala performance. Also in 2018, he received an invitation from Toquinho to be one of the special guests on the tour commemorating the 50th anniversary of his career as a legend of Brazilian popular music. 

 

Porto Regional Centre

In the context of the closing of the commemorations of the 40 years of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, at Porto Regional Centre, the book “40 – A Universidade Católica Portuguesa no Porto” will be launched, as well as the presentation of the documentary “O Príncipio do Futuro 1978-2018” at Auditorium Ilídio Pinho.

Braga Regional Centre

Christmas Mass

The Association of Students of the Faculty of Theology of Braga and the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences and the Braga Regional Centre invite the entire academic community to participate in the Christmas celebrations of 2019. After the Eucharist, a Christmas supper will be served, whose participation should be preceded by registration with the AEFTB, AEFFCS or the treasury. The value of the supper is 7€ for students and 10€ for professors and collaborators.

Christmas Campaign

The UCP of Braga Regional Centre, this year, celebrates the Christmas season in a different way, joining the Oficina de S. José and the Instituto Português de Sangue e Transplante to support the two causes by donating blood, toys and clothes. The support to the children of Oficina de São João can be done through the greeting cards available in the Christmas trees of the campus.

Viseu Regional Centre

The Christmas celebrations of the Viseu Regional Centre will be marked by a Mass with the presence of the Bishop of Viseu, D. António Luciano. At the end of the celebration, there will be a cocktail and a gathering in order to commemorate the creation of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the UCP of Viseu Regional Centre.
