Sophia Estudante 2025: 4 nominations for School of Arts

The Portuguese Film Academy (APC) has announced that the 14th edition of the Sophia Awards will be held on April 27 at the Estoril Casino, with live broadcast on RTP2, under the motto “Cinema is Passion”.

Among the films selected for Sophia Student 2025, School of Arts has four nominations in three of the six categories of the competition: Best Experimental Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film and Best Poster.

The film “BACIA DAS ALMAS” by Fernando Sá Machado, a third-year film student, and the film “BERRO” by Gabriel Andrade, also a third-year film student, have been selected in the Best Experimental Short Film category.

In the Best Documentary Short Film category, the film “ÁGUA QUE FERVE” by Diana Gonçalves, a third-year film student, is in competition.

BERRU” by Gabriel Andrade was nominated for Best Poster with design by Pedro Silva.

The Sophia Student Prize is awarded to the film that the members of the Academy consider to be the best short film made by a film and audiovisual student.
