Solidarity campaign organized by Católica supports more than 30 institutions

The Christmas Solidarity Campaign of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), "The joy of being together", begins today and brings together the community of the four campi of the UCP (Lisbon, Porto, Braga and Viseu), with the aim of supporting more than 30 charities. This nationwide campaign of food collection, donations and volunteer actions will last until December 17.

One of the initiatives of this campaign is the Solidarity Christmas Market, which takes place on December 5 at the headquarters of UCP (Lisbon), with the participation of partner institutions of the VIDA Project - Volunteering at Católica, through the sale of products to raise funds.

In Porto, CASO (Católica Solidária) organises a food and clothes collect, The Joy of Giving, which reverts to the Casa da Mãe Clara and to Porto Solidário, and on the 6th there is a Christmas Sale with products from the institutions Somos Nós and APPACDM - Porto, which will also participate in a solidarity bingo game with the UCP community.

Finally, and as of november 29th, the students of the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics will, during the night, participate in the distribution of meals with Refood of Benfica. Also at the Viseu campus there will be a food collection in partnership with the "Ready to Help" Association, with the aim of helping families in situations of social vulnerability.
