President of Universidade Católica visits Tecnopolo, recognised as the best university innovation centre in Latin America

The President of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Isabel Capeloa Gil, visited the business centre of Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), where she had the opportunity to visit Tecnopolo, recognised as the best university innovation centre in Latin America.

Tecnopolo stands out for incubating internationally renowned companies, including Microsoft, Apple and HP, establishing itself as a strategic ecosystem for innovation and technological development.

On the same day, the Rector gave the inaugural lecture at the PUCRS Institutional Development Seminar, on the theme ‘Internationalisation and Catholic Universities’, kicking off the proceedings dedicated to reflecting on the challenges of internationalisation in the context of Catholic higher education.

The meeting brought together several experts who contributed to the debate on the multiple dimensions of internationalisation in higher education, including teaching, research, innovation and health, promoting strategic reflection on the role of Catholic universities in the global context.

The Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Fr. Anderson Pedroso, SJ, visited the Portuguese Catholic University, where he was received by the Rector, Isabel Capeloa Gil. The meeting reinforced the ties of academic and institutional cooperation between the two Catholic universities. The visit preceded the launch of the book "Towards a Poetics of Creativity. The Concept of Art in Vilém Flusser," which will take place on 3 November at Brotéria in Lisbon.
