The president of Católica takes part in a conference to mark International Women’s Day

The President of Universidade Católica Portuguesa was one of the guest speakers at the International Women’s Day 2026 conference, an initiative dedicated to the female perspective on the economy, politics and progress, organised by The Club G100.

Isabel Capeloa Gil took part in the event’s first panel, on the theme “The future is now: women, the economy and decision-making power”, which also featured contributions from Cristina Ascenço (ISQ), Maria do Carmo Neves (Tecnimede) and Teresa Fiúza (Banco Português de Fomento), and was moderated by Pedro Ramos.

This opening discussion reflected on the role of women in the economy and their influence in decision-making centres, as well as on leadership and the impact of female talent on economic growth and organisational transformation.

The event also featured a presentation by Carma’s managing director, Filipe Pereira, who, as keynote speaker, spoke on “The next stage of equality: Who decides, how they decide and for whom”, and a panel discussion featuring Ana Mendes Godinho, Alcina Cerdeira, Carla Mouro and Maria de Belém Roseira, moderated by António Saraiva, on the theme “Women’s voices, decisions that matter: Politics, Society and Equality”.

The International Women’s Day conference, held at Taguspark, is an initiative of the Communication, Advocacy & Mediation Wing of The Club G100, a collective of 100 women leaders from around the world, which aims to create an equal and inclusive environment for women.
