Presentation to students of the work developed at the Alcântara Public Bathhouse

In the welcome week for new 1st year students of the Integrated Master of Medicine, a session was organized, in collaboration with the Degree in nursing, on the mission of this institution to the homeless and vulnerable population of Lisbon.

Isis Loos, Master in International Public Health, from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Netherlands, presented the work developed at the Alcântara Public Spa to the students. It was in this place that he developed the empirical part of his Master's dissertation, integrated in the "Public Bathouse Nursing" project, of the "Nursing Research Platform Lisbon", of the Interdisciplinary Research Center in Health, of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, under the guidance of Amélia Simões Figueiredo

The importance of a culture of proximity and centrality to the person in the health area of ​​the UCP was underlined, taking the example of the School of Nursing, making the bridge between the teaching aspect and the orientation towards the community.
