Pope Francis appoints Rector of Católica as consultant to the Congregation for Catholic Education
It was in the Holy See, last Saturday, May 7, that Pope Francis appointed Isabel Capeloa Gil, Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa to the position of consultant to the Congregation for Catholic Education.
The Rector, who accumulates the role of 1st woman President of the International Federation of Catholic Universities, in 2016 was appointed to the Congregation for Catholic Education by the High Chancellor of the UCP, D. Manuel Clemente, and in 2018, a member of the Scientific Council of AVEPRO, the Holy See’s Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties.

The Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Fr. Anderson Pedroso, SJ, visited the Portuguese Catholic University, where he was received by the Rector, Isabel Capeloa Gil. The meeting reinforced the ties of academic and institutional cooperation between the two Catholic universities. The visit preceded the launch of the book "Towards a Poetics of Creativity. The Concept of Art in Vilém Flusser," which will take place on 3 November at Brotéria in Lisbon.
