Peter Hanenberg participates in European webinar on Open Science and Knowledge Security

Peter Hanenberg, Vice-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, participated on May 13 in the international webinar “Open Science and Knowledge Security: Aligning European Policy and Practice”, dedicated to discussing the role of open science in the current European context of strengthening knowledge security policies.

Organised by leading institutions such as the Open Research Community Accelerator (ORCA), Science Europe, ESF, the European University Association (EUA), the Council for National Open Science Coordination (CoNOSC) and the European Commission, the webinar aimed to promote a space for dialogue between experts, policy makers, universities, and European funding bodies, with a view to discussing and articulating the value of open science in promoting a secure, open and collaborative research system.

The event also featured interventions from representatives of the European Commission and the Netherlands Research Council, and was moderated by Julieta Arancio, from the Open Research Community Accelerator (ORCA).

This was followed by an open discussion session focusing on how to develop strategic messages and concrete measures to strengthen the position of open science in public policy.
