Pedro Marques receives Endocrine Society Early Investigator Award 2025 for groundbreaking research into pituitary tumours

Pedro Marques, a professor at Católica Medical School and an endocrinologist at CUF, was one of the winners of the prestigious Early Investigator Award 2025, awarded by the Endocrine Society. This award recognises his outstanding contributions to research into pituitary tumours and neuroendocrinology.

"It's a huge honour to be one of the winners of the Endocrine Society's Early Investigator Award 2025. This recognition means a lot to me and motivates me to continue learning, growing and contributing to the field of pituitary tumours and neuroendocrinology," shares the award-winning doctor and researcher.

The research that earned him this distinction focuses on the tumour microenvironment of the pituitary gland, offering new perspectives that could pave the way for more targeted and effective treatments.

Pedro Marques will attend the Endocrine Society's annual meeting - ENDO 2025 - in San Francisco, where he will officially receive the award and present a lecture on his research.

The Endocrine Society's Early Investigator Awards aim to support and recognise promising young researchers in the field of endocrine research.

This recognition not only highlights Pedro Marques' career and achievements, but also emphasises the growing impact of Portuguese medical research on the international scientific scene.

In addition to his duties as a doctor and lecturer, Pedro Marques is also Project Manager for Scientific Programmes at the European Society of Endocrinology (ESSE) and Vice-President of the Portuguese Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (SPEDM).
