National Day of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa 2024

Universidade Católica Portuguesa celebrates its National Day with an Academic Session, on February 1, at 4:00 p.m., which will take place at the Cardeal Medeiros Auditorium, in Lisbon. On this day the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa will be awarded to Rui Chafes and Helen Alford, OP.

The ceremony will also include the imposition of the insignia and delivery of the doctoral letters to the doctors who obtained the degree in 2023 and the awarding of the silver and gold medals to UCP employees who completed 25 and 40 years of service last year.

The National Day of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa is celebrated on the first Sunday of February, on the 4th, under the motto "a new choreography of knowledge".

On that day, relevant for the entire academic community, a Thanksgiving Mass will be celebrated at the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Church, in Lisbon, at 11:00 a.m., to be presided over by His Eminence  D. Rui Valério, the Patriarch of Lisbon and Chancellor of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and broadcast live by Rádio Renascença and TVI.
