Michael Baum at Leadership Summit Portugal 2021

The Coordinator of the new Undergraduate Program in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and Professor at the Faculdade de Ciências Humanas, Michael Baum, will attend the Leadership Summit Portugal 2021. In his speech, the Senior Fellow at University of California Berkeley’s Institute for European Studies and Full Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa will approach the situation of the Portuguese democracy, answering the questions: Is the Portuguese democracy really sick? And if so, what can be done?

The Leadership Summit Portugal 2021, highly sponsored by His Excellency the President of the Republic, will take place at Casino Estoril on September 28. The theme of the event is “Back to Politics – A new path for the Planet, for Democracy and for Humanity”.

Margarida Abreu Award
The  Faculty of Human Sciences will honor the legacy of Margarida Abreu, a social worker and distinguished professor, by establishing the Margarida Abreu Award, which aims to support, on an annual basis starting in the 2026/2027 academic year, one student entering the Undergraduate Degree in Social Work whose life story demonstrates exceptional resilience, the ability to overcome challenges, and a commitment to the values of social work.
