Laudato si' Week 2026

During Laudato si’ Week 2026, which began on 17 May and ends on 24 May, the academic community is invited to adopt more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyles.

This week:

  • Answer the Earth’s call and reduce your energy consumption: switch off unnecessary lights in unused rooms or turn down the air conditioning slightly;
  • Answer the Call of the Poor and sign up as a volunteer for the Food Bank’s next Campaign Against Hunger, or volunteer with one of the University’s partner organisations;
  • Support the green economy by buying food from local farmers or cooperatives. Our economic choices shape the world we live in;
  • Adopt sustainable lifestyles: use the university’s water fountains to fill your reusable water bottle and try a vegetarian meal;
  • Reread or read an excerpt from Laudato si’ and share your reflections with your community, helping to deepen your ecological awareness;
  • Take part in ecological spirituality initiatives organised by your community.
