Hope Café fostered reflection on hope and integral care at UCP

Universidade Católica Portuguesa hosted the Hope Café, an event that marked the 10th anniversary of the Laudato Si’ Encyclical and promoted dialogue on hope as a vital resource for integral care and human formation.

The event brought together professors, students, and members of the academic community to reflect on the development of a new educational offering focused on hope and care. The session was led by CADOS, namely through Alexandra D’Araújo, Raquel Ubach Trindade, and Zaida Charepe, representing the initiative’s organizing team.

Throughout the session, participants contributed to a “Hope Wall,” shared inspiring experiences, and collaborated in designing innovative educational proposals. The program included a welcoming moment, synergy tables, and a collaborative vision for the future of postgraduate education.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Hope Café encouraged reflection on the role of academic institutions in promoting health and well-being, quality education, reducing inequalities, and fostering social justice.

The event concluded with an inspiring message and a collective commitment to continue building a more hopeful future together.
