FAO launches open call for research fellows programme

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has just opened a call for its fellows programme. Designed to attract fellows, typically PhD students, researchers and professors, this opportunity comes within the context of the Strategic Alliance of Catholic Research Universities collaboration (SACRU) with FAO.

As part of Universidade Católica Portuguesa’s membership in SACRU, UCP PhD students and researchers with an advanced level of relevant technical knowledge and experience in any field of the FAO, may apply by August 25.

To be considered, candidates should have a Master’s or PhD degree or be enrolled in a PhD programme in a “bona fide” educational institution at the time of application or be recent graduate and have at least two years of relevant working or research experience in one of the fields of the FAO.

Besides the required experience in the field, it is mandatory to have working knowledge of at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish), and the knowledge of a second FAO language will be considered an asset to the application.

Any alliance PhD student who wishes to apply should manifest the application or the intention to apply to the SACRU Secretariat, sending an email to sacru.alliance@unicatt.it. The Call for Expression of Interest closure date is August 25, 2024, 11:59:00 PM CEST.

To formalize the application, candidates should complete an online profile on Jobs at FAO, and submit a research proposal, the evidence of attendance in a recognized university or copy of academic qualifications.
