Faculty of Education and Psychology welcomes new undergraduate students

"It is always with excitement and renewed hope that we welcome new students," said Raquel Matos, Director of the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FEP), at the welcoming session for the new Psychology students.

The Director of the Faculty said that welcoming new students means opening up "to new challenges" and also shared that these new Psychology students from the 23/24 academic year are the twentieth group in the Psychology Degree at the Porto Regional Centre. The degree, which began in September 2004, has now been running for 19 years "with a solid track record".

The welcome session, which took place on 7 September, was marked by the enthusiasm and energy of the students who filled the audience. Alexandra Carneiro, coordinator of the degree, challenged the students to "take advantage of all the opportunities that the FEP has to offer" and Beatriz Pratas, a second year student, invited the new students to get involved in "all the paths and projects that the FEP makes possible for you."

After the session ended, the students were invited to gather in the Ilídio Pinho Auditorium to take part in a meeting between all the students from the different degrees at Católica - Porto Regional Centre, where scholarships and merit awards were also presented. Isabel Braga da Cruz, Pro-Rector, spoke at the general welcome session and congratulated all the new students on entering higher education and for choosing Universidade Católica Portuguesa: "You are beginning the best years of your lives. We want the mission of the Universidade Católica to inspire you."
