Faculty of Dental Medicine inaugurates CED-MeD - Centre for Digital Education in Dental Medicine

The Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) inaugurated the Centre for Digital Teaching in Dental Medicine - CED-MeD on 30 October.

The creation of this centre is the result of the InDig - Innovation and Digital teaching technologies in Dental Medicine project, co-financed by the Human Capital Operational Programme (POCH) and Portugal 2020.

At the inauguration ceremony of this new centre, the Director of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Marlene Barros, highlighted the importance of this project for the future of digital transformation at the FMD. The digital platforms CIP (Clinical Intelligence Platform) and Atlas for Dental Medicine teaching (C3-Católica Case Cloud) were also presented. These tools aim to provide a more effective and interactive learning experience in the teaching of dentistry.

The event also featured presentations by two guest speakers, Katalina Cano, a specialist in the development of e-learning tools at the International Team for Implantology (ITI), and Rui Figueiredo, a lecturer at the University of Barcelona. Both shared their experiences of using digital technologies throughout their academic and teaching careers, highlighting their role in transforming the teaching and practice of dentistry.

The event also included a round table on "Technologies associated with teaching in Dentistry".
