Easter 2022 message

In times of dire predicament, we go on believing in a better future. As it celebrates Easter, Universidade Católica Portuguesa rejoices with the renewed testimony of the Resurrection and strives to inspire and serve in the spirit of Christ.

For 2022 Universidade Católica Portuguesa has  planned a number of important renewal initiatives covering topics such as teaching, organization change and infrastructure development, which will materialize in the coming months. At the same time, we are ready to respond to the current emergency caused by the war in Ukraine by widening the Initiative to Support Refugee Students and Researchers and launching a campaign to boost the Pope Francis Fund. The fund has been providing assistance to migrant and refugee students since 2017. This year we also celebrate the University’s 55th anniversary.  In these demanding times, our action and contribution are more necessary than ever.

Science and education are strategies for peace. Societies educated in the values of human dignity and furthering the production of knowledge for the common good have the resilience to fight autocracy and repression. And that is what we do here.

I thank the UCP community for its contribution in affirming our mission of creating value with values and I wish you all a Holy and Happy Easter.
