Discuss Creativity, Philosophy and Transformation in Braga – Applications are now open for the Creativity Week!

How can creativity help us respond to the challenges of the twenty-first century? Artificial Intelligence, climate change, geopolitical tensions and rapid technological transformation are reshaping society and raising fundamental questions about what it means to create, innovate and act as human beings.

This leading question will guide Creativity Week, an event by Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Braga from 12 to 16 October 2026. Applications are now open for 10 PhD candidates, PhD students, Postdoctoral researchers, Academic Staff involved in Doctoral Education and Professional staff working in doctoral education and research support to participate in the PhD Conference “Thinking Creativity: An International PhD Conference in Philosophy”.

The PhD Conference forms part of the wider Creativity Week 2026, which will include participation in a Matchmaking Event – Together We Create the Future.

Through keynote lectures, parallel sessions, workshops and scientific discussion, the conference promotes interdisciplinary dialogue between philosophy, the arts, science and technology and explores creativity as a driver of innovation, sustainability and social transformation.

Simultaneously, there are 10 vacancies, with scholarship including the value of travel, accommodation, and insurance, for Master's students (interested in doctoral studies), PhD candidates, PhD students and Post-doc researchers to participate in the Summer School, which will include participation in all the programme components of the Creativity week.

Under the topic “Shaping the Future: Philosophy, Creativity and Human Transformation in the Age of AI”, participants will work in international teams on one of three thematic pathways: Creativity and Artificial Intelligence, Creativity and Conflict Resolution and Creativity towards Sustainability.

Read the calls conditions and apply to the PhD Conference or the Summer School by September 10, 2026. Results will be published on September 20, 2026.
