Dean of PUC-Rio visits Universidade Católica Portuguesa before presenting his book “Por uma poética da Criatividade" at Brotéria, in Lisbon

The Rector of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Fr. Anderson Pedroso, SJ, visited Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where he was welcomed by the President, Isabel Capeloa Gil. The meeting reinforced the ties of academic and institutional cooperation between the two Catholic universities.

The visit preceded the launch of the book ‘Por uma poética da Criatividade. O Conceito de Arte em Vilém Flusser’, written by Fr. Anderson Pedroso, SJ, which will take place on 3 November at 6 p.m. at Brotéria in Lisbon.

The launch session will feature a presentation by Isabel Capeloa Gil, President of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and contributions from Marc Lenot and Fr. Manuel Cardoso, SJ, who will accompany the author in reflecting on this work dedicated to the aesthetics and philosophy of art in Vilém Flusser.

‘Por uma poética da Criatividade. O Conceito de Arte em Vilém Flusser’ proposes an innovative reading of Flusserian thought, exploring the concept of art as a space for creation and freedom, and opening up new perspectives on the relationship between philosophy, theology, and artistic practice.

This event will be an opportunity for academic and cultural dialogue on creativity and contemporary thought, bringing together leading voices in the fields of philosophy and theology.
